Course Name: Data Journalism
Introduction:
Political violence has been reported frequently in Bangladesh in recent times. At the same time, the opposing political parties complain that there is no democratic environment in Bangladesh. From that place, I have tried to know the overall political situation of the country with the various data of the current 11th parliamentarians of Bangladesh. At the same time, I tried to know about the educational qualifications of the parliamentarians and the profession of the parliamentarians. I have also tried to bring up the overall participation of women politicians in the country.
Data
Extraction
To do this data story, I first
collect data from the official website of the eleventh parliament of Bangladesh
through data scraper on Google. Then export it to Excel file, do data
cleaning. I collect as much data as I need there.

Data Cleaning
After collecting the
data through data scraper, I clean the data as per my requirement from the Excel
file. There, by deleting the unnecessary data, increasing the number of
sheets in Excel and keeping the necessary data, from there, arrange the data
through the pivot table of Excel. Then create a chart from there through
flourish data visualization.
Putting together data story
I have used pie charts, bar charts and column
charts to represent the number of MPs and educational qualifications and other
data.
After reviewing the total number of seats in the 11th Parliament, it was found that Awami League has the highest number of seats. Jatiya Party is in second position. Although BNP is popular as a political party, its number of seats in the 11th Parliament was not noticed much.
Similarly, the educational qualifications of all MPs were verified, with bachelor degree holders being the most. Besides, there is a post graduate degree holder in the second position. Also, there are many with SSC and HSC qualifications. There are many people who have not passed secondary school in this eleventh parliament.
Among the eleven parliamentarians, the male majority is much more noticeable. The lack of women politicians in Bangladesh politics is clear here.
The majority of businessmen among politicians is one of the most noticeable aspects of the 11th Parliament. Outside of politics, a large part is involved in business. Among the total members of Parliament, 191 are directly involved in business. Also there are total 47 people of legal profession. Beyond this, doctors and political professions; The number of such parliamentarians is also significant.
